Dream role for Priory High old boy

A talented Burscough Priory High old boy will play the lead role of Jean Valjean in the latest touring production of Les Miserables that’s coming to the Liverpool Empire in January.

Dean Chisnall, born in Ormskirk, will be appearing alongside Nic Greenshields as Javert and Katie Hall as Fantine will full casting announced soon.

Boublil and Schönberg’s score of Les Mis. includes I Dreamed a Dream, On My Own, Stars, Bring Him Home, and Do You Hear the People Sing?

The production – based on the novel by Victor Hugo – is the longest running musical in West End history, first opening in London in 1985 with 70 million people seeing the show worldwide.

Dean attended Newburgh Primary School and Burscough Priory, moving to London in 2002. He was the final actor to perform the role in the original production in 2018, saying at the time:

“To play Jean Valjean is a dream for me. I am very lucky. Les Miserables is the greatest show ever written in musical theatre. This is the show that I have always wanted to be in.”
