A Corsa and Mondeo estate were both badly damaged after a crash at the busy junction of Park Road and Aughton St. tonight.
Police attended the incident outside Dallas takeaway and although no one was injured the drivers of both cars were shaken.
The Corsa was finally removed by AAA Road Rescue of Leyland at about 8.30, an hour-and-a-half after the accident happened.
Said one man at the scene: “When I saw it was a silver Vauxhall, I first thought one of the Dallas takeaway drivers was involved.
“There’s one with a silver Astra who drives like a maniac around town and I’ve seen him run a red light to get to his usual parking space on the pavement at the front of the shop.
“I have reported him to the police.”
