Polling stations open across Sefton

Polling stations across the UK have opened for voting in 145 councils, 13 mayors and 39 police and crime commissioners.

22 seats are up for election on Sefton Council.

These elections were previously scheduled for May 2020 but were delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Residents placing their vote today are being asked to bring their own pen or pencil.

Pencils will be provided at a polling station if you do not have one, but will not be accepted back due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Officially the Council say:

“We have contingency plans in place where pens are available, however in order to remain fully covid secure we are asking voters to please bring their own own or pencil when casting their ballot.”
