Cash boost for Parkhaven Trust staff

Staff at Maghull’ s Parkhaven Trust are in the money after it’s been accredited as a Living Wage Employer.

Workers will now get paid a minimum of £9.50 an hour, significantly higher than the government minimum at £8.91.

Kim Crowe, chief executive said:

“We are delighted that by careful financial management we are now in a position to be able to offer the real Living Wage to staff in recognition of the hard work over the past year.

Laura Gardiner, director, Living Wage Foundation added:

“Parkhaven Trust has joined the movement of more than 7,000 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on.

“They join thousands of small businesses, as well as household names such as Burberry, Barclays, Everton Football Club and many more.

“These businesses recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer and they, like Parkhaven Trust, believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.”
